The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Pali, Rajasthan is one of the KVKs established by ICAR – Central Arid Zone Research Institute (CAZRI), Jodhpur in 1992.
The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Pali has the total land of 40 ha. The area under building is 0.5 ha which include administrative building and farmers hostel. The farmers hostel has 3 dormitories having a capacity to accommodate 60 farmers during training. The area under demonstration unit is 1.0 ha and under different crops, it is 20 ha. The area under orchard is 3.0 ha which includes a ber orchard, a lime orchard and a date palm orchard. 15.5 ha area is left under agro-forestry system which includes a number of commercially important forest plants along with some horticultural plants of arid zone. Three green houses are also established at the KVK farm under which different plants are prepared in the model nursery. Under green houses fruit orchards like pomegranate, banana and papaya are developed alongwith other fruit and ornamental plants.
The KVK has a vehicle for field activities i.e. for organising field days and visiting villages and farmers at field. It also has two tractors with necessary equipment for field work. KVK, Pali has procured various latest farm implements under government’s Sub Mission on Agricultural Mechanization i.e. laser land leveller, improved thresher, happy seeder, multi crop planter, self propelled reaper cum binder, self propelled weeder, self propelled tiller etc. These implements are utilized at KVK farm as well as for demonstration to farmers of Pali and surrounding districts. These implements are useful in the sense of saving time, reducing costs and increasing work efficiency.
The KVK is also equipped with latest information technology tools i.e. Computers and laptops with printer and broadband connection for 24 hour connectivity to the internet, an Overhead Projector, an LCD with Screen, multimedia capabilities and a Multi-function photo copier/Fax machine.
