He is a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D.) in Hroticulture, 2002 with an experience of teaching and research as Assistant Professor (Pomology) at the College of Horticulture and Forestry, Central Agricultural University, Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh during 2002 – 2005 and subsequently as Assistant Professor (Post Harvest Technology) at the College of Horticulture and Forestry, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur during 2005 – 2008. Presently he is the Head (Training Organizer) at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra,CAZRI, Pail.

He had been awarded various fellowships during B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. by ICAR, IARI and CSIR and also qualified ICAR NET in 1998. He has attended various training programmes, seminars and conferences at national and international level. His research papers have been published in various journals. Alongwith research papers he has also written many chapters in different books and also some popular articles.

He had been actively involved in sports, NCC and other extra curricular activities during his study. He also has good knowledge of handling computers and various software applications with a diploma in computer applications.

Dr. Mahendra Kumar Choudhary did M.Sc. Ag. in 1989 from RCA, Udaipur and worked on the topic “Effect of irrigation and moisture conserving substance on chickpea yield” and Ph.D. in 1992 from RBS College Bichpuri, Agra on “Intercropping of oilseed and pulses with wheat under limited fertilizer and irrigation as a resource constraints”. He was awarded Junior Research Fellowship from ICAR, New Delhi in 1985.

He served about 4 years at KVK, SURE, Barmer and for last 12 years has been serving at CAZRI KVK, Pali as a Training Associate (Agronomy) and Subjec Matter Specialist (Agronomy). He was awarded Best Worker from KVK, Barmer by SURE, Barmer in 1997 for popularization of Moth RMO-40 at Barmer district. He has also been awarded for Best Article Award y Samay Kon Agriculture Magazine, Jaipur in 1999 for writing popular article for Samay Kon.

He conducted vocational training for income generation on fertilizer management through compost and CAZRI technology on multinutrient feed block/mixture in 2002-03. After the programme one of the trainees Shri Deda Ram Patel registered a firm “Kamdhenu Pusu Aahar and Jaivik Khad” at village Kharda ki Dhani and sold product of MNF Block, mixture, vermi-compost, worms and bio-pesticides made with cow urine and is earning Rs. 4000-5000 per month.

He conducted a total of 1060 FLD’s on improved agro-techniques of different kharif and rabi drops at 33 villages of Barmer and Pali districts. He has organised on campus training programmes 101 for crops, 2 for Malamer cattel feed managment, 11 trainings for extension functions, off campus trainings 265 for crops, 25 for plant protection and 9 for live stock prodiction. He also organised 8 Kisan mela, 40 field days, 5 Farmer Scientist Interaction, 44 dagnostic visits, 104 Kisan Gosthi, 15 Kisan Clubs, 4 SHG, 7 exposure visits, 7 radio talks. He has also authored 3 research papers, 5 conference proceeding papers, 22 extension literature, and 52 popular articles.

He also organised Seed multiplication programme of Moth RMO-40 at KVK, Barmer and sesame, gum, moong, dhaman etc. at KVK, pali and sold the same to the farmers of district.

Dr. M. L. Meena did his M.sc. (Agridulture Extension) from RCA, Udaipur in 2001. He worked on the topic “Impact of National Horticulture Research and Development Foundation in Adoption of Onion Production Technology by the Farmers of Alwar District of Rajasthan“. He completed his Ph.D. in Agriculture Extension in 2003 from S.K.N. College of Agriculture, Jobner, Jaipur. He has worked in Ph.D. on “Problems and prospects of improved buffalo production practices by the farmers of flood prove eastern plain zone of Rajasthan“.

He was appointed as Subject Matter Specialist (Agriculture Extension) on 28.4.2007 by the Central Arid Zone Research Institute, Jodhpur and posted at KVK, Pali.

He has authored many articles/papers/abstracts on different topics including 3 articles, 7 research papers, 14 abstracts and 2 book chapters. He has also presented 10 research papers in national seminars. He has also participated in 7 days workshop on SREP and 5 days workshop on PRA and attended training courses winter school on “Entrepreneurship development in Agriculture“, summer school on “Emerging technologies of Communation and education for management of learning“.

Sh. Laxman Prsada Balai completed his M.Sc. (Plant Pathology) in the year 2007 from R.A.U., Bikaner. He has submitted his Ph.D. thesis in mycology and plant pathology on the topic “Pathogenic and biochemical variability in alternaria blight pathogen of pigeonpea” at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He had participated in many national and international conferences and has many papers to his credit.

He joined KVK, CAZRI, Pali-Marwar as SMS (Plant Pathology) in October, 2013.

Sh. Chandan Kumar did his M.Sc. (Ag.) Vegetable Science from G.B. Pant University of Agri. & Technology in 2010. He worked on the topic “Effect of boron and lime on seed yield and quality of temperate cauliflower under mid-hill condition of Uttarakhand “. He was appointed as Subject Matter Specialist (Horticulture) on 22.02.2014 by the Central Arid Zone Research Institute, Jodhpur and posted at KVK, Pali.

He had been qualified ICAR NET in 2010 and Senior Research Fellowship Exam, 2011. He also has good knowledge of handling computers and various software applications with a diploma in computer applications.

Brief profile

He is a post graduate in computer applications (M.C.A.) and graduate in environmental sciences. He did his Masters internship at Forest Research Institute, Dehradun where he computerized the Forest Pathology Museum of the Institute by developing a software application to digitize and manage their manual records in the computer in an easy and accessible manner with all the details including images of the pathogens.

Professionally, he started his career in year 2002 as Computer Instructor in a public school. He worked as Technical Head in a computer firm for one year during 2003 – 2004 and was involved in software development, data digitization, graphics etc.

Prior to joining Central Arid Zone Research Institute (CAZRI) at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Pali in 2008, he worked as Project Assistant in Wildlife Institute of India (WII), Dehradun for the period 2004 to 2008 where he was assigned to design, develop and manage the website of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Cell. He was also involved in the documentation and report preparation for the different field studies on wildlife and environmental issues, preparing various presentations and posters for the trainings and workshops conducted at the local, national and international levels.

Presently, he is posted as Programme Assistant (Computer) at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, CAZRI, Pali-Marwar in Rajasthan since November 5, 2008 and is involved in website designing, preparing presentations, designing posters and desktop support for computer hardware and software.

He is familiar with different operating system environments, office application software, graphics applications, website design and development and also software development.
